Pannun, Designated as a Terrorist, Remains Untraceable Following Murders of Khalistani Terrorists in the UK
After the murders of three feared Khalistani terrorists in the UK—Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Paramjit Singh Panjwar, and Avatar Singh Khanda—Pannun was apparently untraceable for the past few days. On July 1, 2020, he was formally designated a terrorist by the Indian government under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Pannun became well-known for organising the Khalistan 2020 referendum in several Western countries. In India, there was indignation on Tuesday after a Khalistani banner referred to the consul general in Toronto, Apoorva Srivastava, and the high commissioner of India to Ottawa, Sanjay Kumar Verma, as the “killers” of the leader of the Khalistan Tiger Force, Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
