In Uttarakhand, the heavy rains have increased the problems. Normal life has been thrown out of gear in Rishikesh due to torrential rains. Due to the rain, there was water-logging in the city. At the same time, water also entered the emergency ward of AIIMS late at night. Goods were seen floating in the ward. Seeing the water, there was chaos among the attendants of the patients. At the same time, the patients and attendants had to face difficulties.

After the rain on Sunday, there was light sunshine on Monday morning, but in the afternoon suddenly the weather took a turn and torrential rain started. Due to lack of drainage system, the drains were also overflowing, due to which water was flooded from the main roads to the internal roads.
Due to rain, waterlogging was more at places like Dehradun Road, Triveni Ghat Chowk, Sant Nirankari Bhawan Ganga Nagar, Chandreshwar Nagar, Mayakund. The water level of Chandrabhaga river and Song river had also increased.
Whereas, the highway from Old Chungi to Koyalghati got submerged. The current near Akhand Ashram was so strong that several two-wheelers fell. Many vehicles got stuck in the water and stopped.
The sequence of rains that have been going on across the state for the last three days will continue on Tuesday as well. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rain across the state on Tuesday.
On Monday, 126 mm of rain was recorded in Rishikesh, 103 mm in Narendranagar, 31 mm in Champawat, 24 mm in Bhagwanpur, 20 mm in Laksar.
