Meerut Rapid Rail Accident: In an unfortunate incident eight labourers were seriously injured and two of them are in a serious condition while making a slab for the Rapid Rail. According to sources, the labourers were working around the Rapid Rail construction site when while pouring concrete the slab structure of the Rapidex fell heavily on the labourers. The injured labourers were rushed to the hospital for treatment while two of them are in a critical stage.
‘Incident happened due to Negligence’
The incident took place near the Shoprix Mall. The workers were working for the Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail Project and many eyewitnesses say that the accident happened due to the negligence of the management, as there were no precautionary measures were set up for the workers who were working near the construction site. The rescue operations began as soon as the incident happened and many labourers were rescued by the rescue workers immediately.
One labourer lost his backbone in the accident
The SSP of the area reached the spot and inspected the area and also enquired about the injured labourers. One of the labourer suffered head injury while the other one had received serious backbone injury during the incident. The construction company has assured to take care of the injured labourers.
