Power Bank: After a passenger’s cellphone charger experienced a problem and started to smoke, an Air India aircraft from Udaipur to Delhi was delayed by at least an hour. When the passenger discovered the hot charging device and informed the cabin crew, aircraft AI 470 had already pushed back from the gate. For the protection of the passengers, the plane was brought back to the gate. Though the exact source of the charger’s malfunction is unknown, officials suspect a power bank may have been to blame.
