Lockdown extended in Karnataka:
Pre-scheduled weddings will be allowed to be held in Karnataka during the two-week full lockdown starting from 6 am on May 10, but now only 40 guests will be able to attend. At present the number was 50.
In an amended order issued on Saturday, the government said that it would be permitted to organize pre-decided wedding ceremonies in the presence of limited guests and family members.
However, the number of participants in the ceremony will be limited to 40. There will be no need to seek permission from the administration for the wedding ceremonies at home.
However, prior permission from the administration will have to be taken for the wedding to take place in the Vivah Bhavan or Kalyan Mandapas, Marriage invitations or other related documents along with the application for permission will have to be submitted to the Joint Commissioner of the concerned area of the Greater Bangalore Metropolitan Municipality and the Tehsildar of the concerned area in other districts in the office.
On receiving the application, officers will issue 40 passes for each function. Only those who have, will be able to participate in the ceremony.
This pass will not be transferable. The order states that adherence to Corona safety standards will also be mandatory in wedding ceremonies. Action will be taken on violation of the rules under the provisions of the State Epidemic Control Act 2020, Disaster Management Act 2005 as well as the Indian Penal Code.
