The lockdown in Delhi has been extended for a week amid the Corona crisis. The lockdown will continue till 5 am Monday, May 24 in national capital Delhi. During this time no new relaxation has been given in the rules. This announcement has been made by CM Kejriwal. Kejriwal said, the havoc of Corona infection has reduced in the capital.
In the last 24 hours, there have been about 6,500 cases of corona. The positivity rate has come down to 1% and close to 10%.
The lockdown was implemented in Delhi on 19 April and its duration has been extended for the fourth time.
The Chief Minister said that the lockdown period is being extended, because if this time it is relaxed, then the success achieved so far in controlling the corona virus will be revoked.
Kejriwal said that the good effect of the lockdown is being seen in Delhi. A decrease in new cases has been reported since 26 April. In the last three days, the rate of infection has also declined. The Chief Minister said that the lockdown has been used to strengthen health infrastructure and resources. It is expected that pthere will be more recovery in the next one week. Restrictions will remain the same.
Delhi has reported 6,500 new cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest since 7 April. Delhi has been witnessing daily positive cases and a sharp drop in positivity rate for almost two weeks.
