The month of August is special in terms of rainfall in Madhya Pradesh. Last year, the rains of August had fulfilled the quota. When all the dams had overflowed, there were flood situations in many districts. It had rained more than 30 inches in Bhopal. In Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior and Ujjain also the figure had reached 2-3 times, but this time the picture may be different. Meteorologists have predicted light rain in half of Madhya Pradesh in August and dry weather in the remaining part.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted below normal rainfall in the country during August-September. In Madhya Pradesh too, the picture has been cleared regarding the rains.
July backward in rains, same forecast in August
HS Pandey, Senior Scientist of IMD Bhopal told that monsoon activity starts in Madhya Pradesh from June 1, which lasts till September 30. Two of the four monsoon months, July and August, receive good rainfall, but this time in July, eastern Madhya Pradesh has received 25% less rain, while the western part has recorded 10 to 12% more rain.
If you look at the figures of previous years, there is a trend of more rains in the eastern part, but this time July was lagging behind. The western part also remained at the normal position. The LPA in the overall country which is full of Monsoon in August indicates normal or below normal LPA. In this, rain activity may be normal or above in East India, Central-East India, but the situation is seen weak in the western part.
Talking about Madhya Pradesh on this basis, rain activities will continue in the eastern part in the month of August. There is a weak chance of rain in the western part, which is below normal.
