Scam 2003 teaser: After the blockbuster success of Scam 1992, Sony LIV announced their latest web series on another scam in our country. The web series is titled ‘Scam 2003: The Telgi Story’ and it will start premiering in September on Sony LIV. Makers released the teaser of this latest web series on 5 August and fans are excited to witness one of the biggest scams of India. Scam 1992 was released on 9 October 2020 and it made waves on the internet with the remarkable performance and nail-biting presentation of the story.

Scam 2003 is making headlines even before its release and the teaser has sparked the excitement of fans. The teaser highlights the scammer who engaged in the manufacture of fake stamp papers, purchased the necessary machines and hired over 300 employees who later defrauded banks and insurance organizations. The dialogue ‘Life mein aage badhna hai toh daring toh karna padega na darling’ will surely win the hearts of the audience and it will leave a lasting impact on the audience like Scam 1992.
Telgi cast
Sony LIV’s upcoming web series is based on Abdul Karim Telgi’s scam and reportedly the series will feature Gagan Dev Riar, Aniruddh Roy, Vishal C. Bhardwaj, and Satyam Srivastava in pivotal roles. The series is directed by Hansal Mehta and Tushar Hiranandani.
Who was Telgi?
Abdul Karim Telgi became famous in India for doing a big counterfeit stamp paper scam. He was a businessman who illegally printed and sold counterfeit stamp papers, which are similar to authentic certifications needed to validate legal documents. Telgi was involved in a fake stamp papers scam and was arrested for his illegal scam in 2001. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison and died in 2017.
Scam 2003 Telgi story
The web series features the story of Abdul Karim Telgi, who was a businessman involved in printing and selling fake stamp papers. His father was a normal employee in railways and Abdul took the responsibility of his family but he started finding shortcuts to earn money. He went to Saudi Arabia to earn money and returned back after some time. After returning to India, Abdul started selling fake documents to workers who wished to work in Gulf countries. However, he was arrested for doing this but after releasing from prison, Abdul got involved in another racket.
He started printing fake stamp papers. He obtained the old machines that were auctioned off and deactivated by Nashik Security Press in order to produce the stamp papers. Initially, he charged 100 rupees for each stamp paper and his business has turned big. His customers were not just ordinary people, but also banks, brokerage firms, and insurance corporations. He manufactured judicial court fee stamps, notarial stamps, and other stamps in addition to false stamp papers but got arrested.
