IRCTC fake app: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) recently issued a warning to all of its users about a bogus Android app and a website that scammers have built in an effort to steal personal information from consumers. Since the fraudulent app and website closely resemble the legitimate IRCTC app and website, users may find it challenging to tell the difference between the two.
Know about the hackers and phising links
IRCTC has warned the users in response to the fraud report filed under the IRCTC app’s identity. Actually, the IRCTC fake app resembles the back app in every way. Users are unable to distinguish between genuine and phoney apps in such a scenario. The allegation claims that IRCTC has launched a bogus mobile app campaign in which hackers distribute phishing links and instruct users to download them. Once you’ve downloaded the app, fraud may occur to you.
Be alert with scammers’ message
The phoney IRCTC programme is being distributed through messaging services like WhatsApp and Telegram under the name “irctcconnect.apk.” Scammers are sending messages with the link to a fake website or the APK file of a fake app, claiming that it is the legitimate IRCTC train ticket booking website or app.
IRCTC fake app: Alert with fraud
IRCTC has warned users not to distribute any such links, even accidentally. Users should only download the Rail Connect mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, according to the business. Additionally, information regarding any such event should be provided on the IRCTC customer service mobile number. Users shouldn’t click on any dubious links because doing so could result in fraud. Sharing OTP or login information with anyone could result in fraud.
