Rajasthan News: On Tuesday night, a student committed suicide in Kota, Rajasthan. The student deaths in the entry coaching centre are once more in the spotlight as this is the fourth suicide this month and the 22nd case overall.
18-year-old Valmiki Jangid from Bihar’s Gaya Commits Suicide in Kota’s Coaching Hub
Valmiki Jangid, an 18-year-old from Gaya, Bihar, had enrolled in a coaching programme to prepare for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main exam, which is required for admission to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). Since last year, Jangid has been residing in Kota’s Mahavir Nagar neighbourhood.
22 Student Suicides This Year Spark Concerns Over Mental Health in Kota
Concern has been raised by Kota’s frequent student suicides. Up to 22 coaching students have so far taken their own lives this year. Concerns concerning the mental health of students have been raised in light of these suicides. A helpline for students in Kota is one among the measures the state government has proposed.
