Ola S1 Air: One of Ola’s more economical products in the nation, the S1 Air, was just released. And now, a recently-released ARAI clearance document has shown that two distinct battery packs from two different manufacturers were homologated for the scooter.
Ola S1 Air to get lithium-ion Cells from LG
LG Chem as well as BAK Power are the two manufacturers whose battery’s were tested. The chemical division of LG Corporation is known as LG Chem, as the name suggests. China-based BAK Power is a different company. While the BAK battery ensures the scooter travels about 133km, the LG battery can propel it for about 151km on a single charge.
Which battery will OLA go with?
You’ll receive LG cells with the S1 Air that you purchase. In spite of this, we believe that this is merely a temporary situation because Ola will soon begin producing its own batteries at its Gigafactory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. When this facility is completely operational, it will reportedly produce 100GWh, making Ola one of the biggest Li-ion cell producers in the world.
