Rinku Singh debuts with IND vs IRE series
Discussing Rinku Singh’s cricket journey, he has emerged as a substantial run-getter in domestic cricket, maintaining an impressive average of nearly 60 while representing his state team, Uttar Pradesh. This left-handed batsman showcased his prowess during IPL 2023 where he stood as Kolkata Knight Riders’ leading run-scorer, amassing 474 runs in 16 matches, with a remarkable average of 59.25 and an impressive count of four fifty-plus scores. Notably, he etched his name in the record books by accomplishing the extraordinary feat of hitting five consecutive sixes in an IPL match, sealing an unprecedented victory. This achievement marked an unprecedented milestone in the history of the IPL.
During the toss, skipper Bumrah said, “We’ll bowl first, very happy to be here. The weather looks lovely. I feel good, looking forward to play some cricket. You realise what you were missing, very happy to be back. We expect nothing short of a fight from Ireland. As a fast bowler, I hope the pitch does something. We have two debuts – Rinku and Prasidh Krishna. Told them to just enjoy their cricket.”
