Patna News: The tomato prices have finally come down a bit after nearly two months of being sold at over 200 Rupees per kg. Many consumers had stopped buying tomatoes due to the higher price. The price of tomato right now has come to 80to100 Rupees per kg in the markets. One of the vegetable vendors said that due to the higher prices, people were only buying tomatoes around 250 grams. The prices are likely to drop further by the mid of September. Many consumers say that they have stopped buying tomatoes due to its high price.
Farmers made Money by growing Tomatoes
According to the data available with the Consumer Affairs Ministry, the price of tomato has come down from 9,671 per quintal to 9,195 per quintal. Even after the decline in price, people are still hesitant to buy them. Many farmers have earned huge money by growing tomatoes in their farms, and even supply them to the cities. Many people from the Middle class families have been complaining about the price of the tomatoes and stopped buying them.
