Jharkhand Weather Update: Monsoon activity has once again gained momentum in Jharkhand, bringing significant rainfall to various districts, including the capital city of Ranchi. Over the past 24 hours, Ranchi experienced substantial rainfall, bringing relief from the previously oppressive humidity and creating a pleasant weather environment. However, it’s important to note that the state still faces a rainfall deficit of 38 percent.
Meteorologist Abhishek Anand from the Mausam Ranchi Meteorological Center has reported that the monsoon is now fully active in the region, with expectations of heavy rainfall in the upcoming 4-5 days. The current position of the monsoon trough spans from Ferozepur, Ambala, and Bareilly to Patna, Balughat, and Mizoram, and it’s gradually shifting toward Jharkhand, causing the recent rainfall. It’s anticipated that within the next couple of days, the monsoon trough will pass through the middle of Jharkhand, leading to a substantial amount of rainfall.
Meteorological Center has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in the eastern part of Jharkhand
The Meteorological Center has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in the eastern central and southern parts of Jharkhand over the next two days. Consequently, a yellow alert has been issued for districts such as Godda, Sahibganj, Pakur, Bokaro, Ranchi, Khunti, Seraikela Kharsawan, and West Singhbhum. The forecast indicates that this weather pattern will persist for the following 4-5 days.
Additionally, there’s a possibility of lightning during these rainy periods, prompting a warning from the authorities. Unfortunately, a recent incident in the Garhwa district resulted in the tragic death of one person and injuries to four schoolgirls due to a lightning strike. The girls were on their way home from school when the lightning struck, causing serious injuries that required hospitalization.
Jharkhand is currently experiencing a resurgence in monsoon activity
In summary, Jharkhand is currently experiencing a resurgence in monsoon activity, resulting in substantial rainfall across various districts, including Ranchi. While this brings relief from the previous humidity, there’s still a notable rainfall deficit in the state. Meteorologists anticipate heavy rainfall in the coming days, particularly in the eastern central and southern regions, along with a risk of lightning. The recent incident of lightning striking schoolgirls highlights the importance of heeding safety warnings during such weather conditions.
