Lucknow News: The fate of the students of the first year of APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University hangs in balance as the Top court recently dismissed their plea to extend the date for granting permission to the New Colleges and extending the affiliation of the existing colleges. The University has over 749 colleges and none of the colleges are affiliated with the University. As per the rules of the All India Technical Council Technical Education, all the new colleges have to apply for fresh approval from the Council and then they need to wait for the affiliation from the University, once it gets the approval it has to again apply to the University for affiliation extension.
AICTE: We gave the approval from our side
If the University fails to get the extension, then it will prove harmful for the students of Graduate and Undergraduate courses in around 749 colleges across the state. According to the AICTE, it had given approval to all the colleges and they had one month time to get the affiliation which never happened.
University approached HC for an Extention
Since the University was not able to meet the deadline, it approached the High Court asking for an extension. Unfortunately, the appeal was rejected in HC as well as SC. The officials are hoping to file another review petition so that the matter can be resolved soon and the students will not have to worry about the zero
