Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait will meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata today.
According to sources, the two leaders will discuss the strategy to intensify the farmers’ movement against the agricultural laws of the Center and surround the government. Before the meeting, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait told the media that today he will meet Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at 3 o’clock. During this, his talk will be on the issue of agriculture, health, education and local farmers.
The Bharatiya Kisan Union leader said that the Bengal government should regularly talk to the farmers of the state. Referring to the meeting of farmers in UP with district magistrates every month, Tikait said that this policy should be implemented across the country.
In fact, after the second wave of Corona slowed down, the farmer leaders are meeting the leaders of the opposition parties to give further strength to their movement. In this episode, Rakesh Tikait will hold a meeting with Mamta Banerjee to discuss the strategy ahead. Earlier this year, during the Bengal Assembly elections in March-April, farmer leader Tikait had campaigned for the Trinamool Congress.
Along with this, Mamta Banerjee has also been raising her voice in support of the farmers’ movement from time to time. Many TMC MPs had also reached the forums of the farmers’ movement on the borders of Delhi.
