Ghaziabad News: Over 33 thousand shops of the city are going to face the wrath of the Investigative agencies, as these shops are not following the rules and regulations according to the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Department. The Department will investigate the Rent Agreement and the Revenue stamp of these shops. If these shops are running in the city on rent, then they must have the Rent agreement and the Revenue stamp as per the existing law. But if these shops fail to prove these, then the authority will have to shut down these shops on immediate basis.
Revenue Department to impose Tax Duties on Shop Owners
The Revenue Department had asked for the overall data of these shops and also planning to impose tax duties from the shop owners. It is a standard rule to have a Rent Agreement between the Shop Owner and the person who is taking the shop on rent. The Rent Agreement has the stamp of 5% when the agreement is made. Whenever there is a dispute between the shop owner and the shopkeeper the main valid document is the Rent Agreement.
All Shop Owners will be sent Notice
According to a survey done by the Revenue Department, there are over 33 thousand shops running in the city which lack the rent agreement and the revenue stamp. The department is planning to impose Commercial Tax on these shops. The shop owners will be sent a notice in this regard, if they fail to answer the notice, then action will be taken.
More than 200 Showrooms were sent Notice
Right now the maximum shops which are running without Rent Agreement and stamp duty are in Mohan Nagar. There are about 8,939 shops running in houses out of which city zone has 7,838 shops, Kavi Nagar has 4,825, Vijay Nagar zone has 6,872 and Vasundhara zone has 4,587 shops running in houses. Apart from this over 200 Showrooms are also sent Legal Notice.
