Uttarakhand Weather Update: Over the next two days, certain regions of Uttarakhand could experience rainfall. After a stretch of clear weather spanning the past few days, the sun’s intensity has led to a rise in temperature. However, there is a likelihood of rain in select districts on Wednesday and Thursday, potentially providing relief from the prevailing heat.
Possibility of rains in Raksha Bandhan
The day of Raksha Bandhan in Uttarakhand holds the possibility of experiencing rainfall. As per the Meteorological Department’s forecast, certain regions such as Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Dehradun, Pithoragarh, and Bageshwar might witness light rain on both August 30 and 31. Similarly, the weather is anticipated to remain unaffected in other districts during this period.
Over the past couple of days, Uttarakhand has experienced clear weather conditions. However, during the final two days of August, rain could disrupt this pattern. Notably, some districts might witness substantial rainfall even at the outset of September. The Meteorological Department’s prediction indicates that the weather will remain dry in the remaining districts. A yellow alert for rainfall has been issued on September 2 in Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora, Champawat, and Nainital districts.
Upcoming days to see lesser rainfall
Meteorological Department has stated that the impact of both western disturbances and monsoon winds from the Bay of Bengal has diminished in Uttarakhand. Consequently, there is a possibility of reduced rainfall across the state in the upcoming days. As of August 29, the state has received 352.6 mm of rainfall, which is four percent below the normal levels. Notably, the Bageshwar district recorded the highest rainfall in August, with 691.7 mm received, marking an increase of 197 percent from the normal levels.
