Ind vs Pak Asia Cup 2023: With the high-octane clash between the biggest rivals in cricket just a day away, all eyes are on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The Indian skipper would be looking to get back in his form against Pakistan after a disastrous 2022 T20 World Cup outing.
On the other hand, everyone is looking at Virat Kohli again to play an amazing inning. The record of these two has been magnificent against the neighboring rivals. And once again the ‘Men In Blues’ will be needing these two.
Former Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar also thinks the same. He stated that Virat Kohli is ready for the clash and also stated how he will tackle Pakistan’s bowling. He further stated this match was the ‘Greatest rivalry in the world.’
Ind vs Pak Asia Cup 2023: Virat Is Ready!
In an interview with Star Sports, Bangar stated “Yes, Virat Kohli is ready for the Greatest Rivalry in world cricket, India versus Pakistan.” He further claimed that the last inning that Virat played against Pakistan was amazing.
Bangar touched on the fact that Kohli was coming out of a bad patch but he was still brilliant and now he is in form and is scoring big runs. Everyone is hopeful for a big inning by Virat as it will be iconic.
New Technique
The former Indian batting coach also explained the fact why Kohli was struggling in the past. “Generally, he was sort of lunging towards the ball, making a big stride forward, and because of that, he was getting out a lot in the slip cordon or also was getting out trapped in front of the wicket,” Bangar stated.
“So what is he doing now? He is setting up really nice and early. Staying still, allowing the ball to come to him. That is one aspect that is going to help him big time. Especially against Shaheen Shah Afridi because he gets the ball to swing in late.”
