ODI World Cup 2023: It looks like all the troubles have been settled down as the Aussies have announced their squad for the upcoming tournament. It is a very strong squad and looks completely capable of going all the way.
Before the announcement, there were doubts regarding four Australian players because of injuries. Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Glenn Maxwell were out of the squad because of injuries.
But all four players have been included in the squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 squad. It will be a huge boost for the squad in terms of morale as well as performance. After all, these four are some of the most important players of this Aussie squad.
Big Returns!
Some of the players included in the squad have a little bit of niggle that they have to overcome in the next two months. But according to George Bailey, all 15 players are ready and will be part of the ODI series in India.
“Pat Cummins, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell are on track in their return to play programs. All are well placed to come back online in the coming weeks and potentially for selection in the upcoming series against India.”
He further stated that the Kangaroos will play 8 more ODI matches before the World Cup. This gives the players enough time to jerk off any negligible niggles. Apart from these 8 ODI matches, the Australian team will also play 2 warm-up matches before the cup.
