Mahindra: An FIR was recently filed in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, against 13 individuals, including Mahindra & Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra. According to the victim’s father, he gave his son a Mahindra Scorpio as a gift, and his son passed away in a car accident in January 2022. In this instance, he filed a FIR charging fraud against Anand Mahindra and 12 other corporate employees. Mahindra has now made an official comment regarding this.
What exactly is the case against Mahindra?
According to the police, the victim, Rajesh, claimed in his complaint that he had given his only son, Apoorva Mishra, a Scorpio car as a gift. On January 14, 2022, Apoorva and his pals were driving back from Lucknow to Kanpur in this car. Their car struck the divider at that moment owing to fog, and Apoorva passed away in the incident.
After the accident, the victim reportedly got in touch with Tirupati Automobiles, the dealership from whom he had bought the SUV. On January 29, 2022, he arrived at the dealership with this SUV and discussed its flaws. He claimed the car was fraudulently sold to him and that even with the seatbelt fastened, the airbag would not deploy. According to the victim Rajesh, his son would not have died if the car had been checked out correctly.
Rajesh Mishra said in the FIR that he had bought a black Scorpio for Rs 17.40 lakh after being persuaded by the safety features marketed by Mahindra in ads and social media posts. His son Apoorva Mishra, who supposedly died in a car accident because the airbags in the vehicle didn’t engage, received this car as a present.
