Star Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant has been tested positive for COVID-19 in England. He will not be travelling with the Indian team to Durham where the team is scheduled to play a practice match.
As reported by the news agency, a BCCI source confirmed that it was Pant who tested positive and was in isolation for the past eight days. He is, according to the source, asymptomatic at this point.
“He is in quarantine at an acquaintance’s place and won’t be traveling with the team to Durham on Thursday,” he said without divulging when the 23-year-old will join the squad.
Indian players were on a 20-day gap after the World Test Championship final against New Zealand. Players were taking he full advantage of the break and enjoying the vacation by going into various sporting events in the United Kingdom.
Pant was also seen at the Wembley Stadium during the EURO 2020. Howevr, according to the reports, he was tested for COVID a week before and this news came in today.
