Electricity Bill Discount: Farmers and other power users have received significant assistance from the Yogi Government of Uttar Pradesh. The Yogi government will once more introduce the One Time Settlement Scheme (OTS) for electrical customers who are in arrears. This programme will begin on November 8 and run until December 31, 2023. It will be carried out in three stages.
Various Consumer Categories Covered
In addition to defaulting home customers, commercial, private institutions, private tube wells, and industrial consumers will also be protected from surcharges under the One Time Settlement Scheme (OTS). In addition, there will be the option to pay the outstanding balance in installments.
Phased Implementation of the One Time Settlement Scheme
Over the course of 54 days, this plan will be implemented in three stages. First phase: November 8–30; second phase: December 1–15; and third phase: December 16–December 31. Under the programme, farmers (MLV-5) and residential customers (LMV-1) have received special attention. They now have the option to pay the remaining balance in up to 12 installments with a 100% fee refund.
100% Surcharge Rebate for Timely Full Payment
If full payment is received by December 15th, those with loads up to one kilowatt will receive a 100% rebate on the surcharge; if not, an 80% discount will be applied. You will receive a 90% discount on paying in 12 payments and a 70% discount after that if you register before December 15th. Only a 60% discount for three installment payments and a 50% discount for six installment payments will be applied.
Discounts for Commercial Customers with Loads Up to 3 kW
Up to November 30th, commercial customers (LMV-2) with loads up to 3 kW will receive 80% of the entire payment; after that, the discount will decrease by 10% to 50%, based on the second-third phase and the number of installments. Commercial customers can receive discounts ranging from 30 to 60% when their load exceeds 3 kilowatts.
