KTM 1390 Super Duke R: KTM has finally revealed the new 1390 Super Duke R, which sports a more aggressive design, a more powerful engine, and a plethora of technological rider aids than the 990 Duke, which debuted at the EICMA 2023. There are two trim options for the streetfighter: the 1390 Super Duke R and the 1390 Super Duke R Evo. In this article, we will tell you all about this amazing bike.
KTM 1390 Super Duke R powertrain details
The 1390 Super Duke, true to its name, has a bigger engine. KTM raised the engine displacement to 1350 cc by increasing the stroke. This also has more power since the new LC8 V-Twin, which is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch, produces 187.4 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque.
Additionally, the new engine has variable valve timing, or what KTM refers to as “cam shift” technology. This aids in the engine’s improved power and torque development across the whole rpm range. The cam shift system, which is housed in the cylinder heads, enables the valves to open at two distinct levels. As a result, the engine meets the most recent emission regulations while producing 10 horsepower more than the 1290 Duke.
Features
Among the features that KTM has added to the 1390 Super Duke R are the following: optional engine brake control, a five-inch colour TFT display, USB Type-C port, TPMS, traction control system, wheelie control, dual-channel ABS, launch control, and new WP Apex open cartridge USD forks and rear mono-shock. Additionally, Michelin Power GP tyres with dual-compound technology and ride modes (including two new Performance and Track modes) are also included.
Design details
Identical in appearance to a regular KTM streetfighter, the KTM 1390 Super Duke R is a huge, fat naked bike. It sports dramatic tank extensions, a stepped seat, and twin LED headlamps with V-shaped LED daytime running lights on either side.
