Google Gemini AI: In detail
The DeepMind division of Google created the large language model (LLM) known as Gemini. It is intended to rival and potentially even surpass other AI systems, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
Gemini integrates text, graphics, and other data kinds and is made to be multimodal from the ground up. This might facilitate more organic communication skills. Google demonstrated the AI’s capabilities by having a video conversation with it and displaying various things to it in real-time.
Three versions available
Gemini Nano will handle tasks that are done on the device; Gemini Pro will be the best at scaling over a broad range of jobs; and Gemini Ultra will be the largest and most capable model for extremely complicated operations. Gemini Nano, which powers new features like Summarise in the Recorder app and Gboard’s Smart Reply, starting with WhatsApp, will be available in Pixel 8 Pro starting today. Gemini will be extended to additional Google services and products, including Chrome, Duet AI, Ads, and Search.
Availability
Developers and enterprise users can use Google Cloud Vertex AI or Google AI Studio’s Gemini API to access Gemini Pro as of December 13. Gemini Nano, a new feature introduced in Android 14 on Pixel 8 Pro devices, may also be used by Android developers via AICore. A limited group of clients, partners, developers, and safety specialists will have access to Gemini Ultra for early testing and feedback while it is undergoing evaluations for trust and safety. Early in the next year, a larger group of developers and business users will have access to it.
