Artificial Intelligence: According to an article by TOI, Experts at the 68th annual Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA) Conference in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, which took place on Saturday, stated that policymakers should take into account the use of AI and robotics to treat patients with orthopaedic problems more effectively because the technologies can lessen the need of extra hands and provide better and faster relief.
Artificial Intelligence and Robotics can speed up orthopaedic healing
To discuss developments in orthopaedic treatment, experts from all over the world have assembled at the conference, which is taking place at the Ekana Sports Complex.
One orthopaedic physician, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, emphasised how AI and robotics may help government hospitals overcome their staffing deficit, especially in trauma and spine surgery departments. He also said that AI and robotics can significantly improve patient care and efficiency by diagnosing issues, creating virtual models, and predicting treatment outcomes. It will also equip the next generation of medical professionals with the latest technology.
The conference also addressed the growing issue of Vitamin D deficiency in children in India and UP, which is linked to unhealthy dietary choices such as packaged foods and low calcium in processed milk.
The Conference’s scientific secretary, Dr. Anup Agarwal, Called for a return to traditional Indian meals high in calcium and vitamin D, and highlighted the latter’s significance in avoiding bone abnormalities.
