LK Advani: The temple trust announced here on Monday that BJP veterans LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, who spearheaded the campaign for the Ram temple in Ayodhya, are unlikely to attend the consecration ceremony next month due to their age and health. “Both are elders of the family and considering their age, they were requested not to come, which was accepted by both,” Ram Temple Trust general secretary Champat Rai told reporters.
Prime Minister’s Presence
According to Rai, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present at the consecration ceremony on January 22, and preparations are well underway. He said that the preparations would be finished by January 15 and that the ‘praan pratistha’ puja would begin on January 16 and last until January 22. Rai provided a comprehensive list of those invited, stating that Advani and Joshi might be unable to attend the consecration ceremony because of age and health issues. Joshi will turn 90 next month, and Advani is currently 96. In order to invite former prime minister Deve Gowda to the ceremony, a three-person team has been assembled, according to Rai.
Distinguished Spiritual Presence
“Shankaracharyas of six darshanas (ancient schools) and around 150 saints and sages and will participate in the ceremony,” Rai said. He said that 2,200 additional guests in addition to roughly 4,000 saints have been invited to the ceremony. According to him, invitees include heads of significant temples like Kashi Vishwanath and Vaishno Devi as well as delegates from institutions related to religion and the constitution.
Yoga Guru’s Presence
The function is being attended by a number of notable individuals, including the spiritual leader Dalai Lama, Mata Amritanandamayi of Kerala, yoga guru Baba Ramdev, movie stars Rajnikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Arun Govil, film director Madhur Bhandarkar, and prominent industrialists like Mukesh Ambani, Anil Ambani, renowned painter Vasudev Kamat, ISRO Director Nilesh Desai, and numerous other notable figures, according to Rai.
Post-Ceremony Rituals
Following the ceremony of consecration,’mandal puja’ will take place on January 24 and last for 48 days, following ritual traditions. On January 23, the temple will open to devotees, he continued. Rai stated that more than three locations throughout Ayodhya have been booked for the guests’ stays. In addition, 600 rooms have been made available by a number of household families, temples, and monasteries. Ayodhya Municipal Corporation officials have announced that they have started getting ready for the consecration ceremony.
Amenities for Devotees
Municipal Commissioner Vishal Singh told PTI that women’s changing rooms will be arranged in specific locations and that fibre restrooms will be installed for devotees. There are plans to construct the ‘Ram Katha Kunj’ corridor within the Ram Janmabhoomi complex. It will feature tableaus depicting 108 incidents from the life of Lord Ram, he said.
