Dunki, Shah Rukh Khan’s third movie of the year, opened in theatres on Thursday. A total of ₹15.41 crore in advance tickets were purchased. On the first day of sales, 15,014 concerts had 5.6 lakh tickets sold, according to a report on Sacnilk.com. According to an additional allegation on the internet, tickets for Prabhas’ Salaar, which opens in theatres this Friday, have already been sold for ₹29.35 crore.
Prabhas’ film surpasses Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki
While Salaar is being released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, Dunki is exclusively available in Hindi. For Salaar’s Friday release, more than 14 lakh tickets have been sold in India for 10,434 shows, according to a report published in Sacnilk. For Salaar, the Telugu version alone has brought in ₹23.5 crores from advance bookings. Advance bookings have been made for tickets worth ₹2.7 crore for Hindi, ₹1.6 crore for Malayalam, ₹1 crore for Tamil, and ₹25 lakh for Kannada shows. The release of the movie is still one day away.
About the films
Rajkumar Hirani directed the film Dunki, which has notable performances by Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover. Its foundation is an unauthorized immigrant. Salaar centres on two friends, Deva and Vardha (played by Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran), who become bitter rivals and are based in the imaginary city of Khansaar. In addition to Shruti Haasan, the film is directed by Prashanth Neel.
