The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory regarding Christmas celebrations, anticipating heavy traffic in various areas. Several routes have been subjected to diversionary measures to manage the expected congestion during this festive season.
To facilitate Christmas celebrations around Delhi’s churches, including the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Thomas Church, Free Church, Cathedral Church, Carmel Convent School, St. Martin’s Church, St. Thomas Church, St. Mary Kanaya Church, Pentecostal Mission, Independent Church of India, FOLJ Church, and St. Alphonsa Church, special traffic arrangements have been put in place.
Advisory Effective from December 24 to December 25
The advisory issued by the Delhi Traffic Police will come into effect from the evening of December 24 and will continue until December 25.
Traffic Diversions on Potential Congested Routes
The Traffic Police Department has identified several routes where heavy traffic is expected during Christmas celebrations. These routes include Gol Dak Khana, Ashok Road (from Gol Dak Khana to Windsor Place), Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Sansad Marg, Church Road, Lodhi Road, Arvindo Marg, Patel Chowk, and Africa Avenue Road.
Possible Diversions on Identified Routes
In case of heavy traffic, diversions may be implemented on the following routes, as suggested by the Delhi Police:
- From RML towards Gol Dak Khana
- From Bhairon Singh Marg/Kali Bari T-Point towards Gol Dak Khana
- From Patel Chowk on Ashok Road towards Gol Dak Khana
- From Outer Circle Connaught Place towards Baba Kharak Singh Marg on Gol Dak Khana
