Bank Holidays in January 2024: Because of both national and regional holidays in January, banks are expected to be closed for a total of 16 days. Clients should arrange their work around any scheduled bank errands or potential banking needs for the month. Festivals, federal holidays, second and fourth Saturdays, and all Sundays are among these celebrations.
Regional Festivals Bring Additional Holidays
On top of the general weekend holidays that apply to all banks nationwide, each region has its own set of holidays that are designated for festivals unique to that region. These holidays won’t affect users’ access to crucial digital services like Internet banking, UPI, and mobile banking, which are available to all of India. If there were any disruptions to these services, customers would be notified in advance; however, on bank holidays, customers might not be able to access the physical bank branches, depending on the location.

Legislative Framework for Bank Holidays
The State Government, Central Government, and Union Territories Act of 1881 lists bank holidays in India. The yearly calendar of bank holidays for the entire year was released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
