Gun License Rule: Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, VK Saxena, has ordered Delhi Police to grant new licences to renowned shooters for the entire country of India, not just Delhi. Raj Niwas officials provided this information on Sunday.
Nationwide Mobility for Renowned Shooters
The lieutenant governor observed that these well-known shooters must travel across the nation for sporting events. The Lieutenant Governor has also enhanced the amount of cartridges that shooters are allowed to own in addition to this. They used to only receive 20 cartridges year, but going forward, they will receive 10,000 rounds.
According to officials, the Lieutenant Governor has made significant progress towards streamlining and facilitating the firearms licencing process. Although there have been concerns up to this point about anomalies and corruption in the licencing procedure, the move taken by LG will assist people who seek for licences, particularly those who engage in shooting sports.
LG Urges Swift Processing and Timely Issuance
Officials said, In addition to directing the expeditious processing of the outstanding licence applications, the lieutenant governor requested that fresh licences be granted within the allotted time frame. According to LG, an internet gateway should be used to finish this process. According to officials, the LG has also requested that the process for renewing an arms licence be made simpler.
According to LG, the current web portal does not specify how long it takes to complete the arms licence process. Delhi Police has received instructions from Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena that all services, including new licence issuance, renewal, area validity, registration, and the sale of firearms, must be completed on time. By the end of this year, the police must process the 6,000 licence petitions that are still waiting, according the Lieutenant Governor’s directive.
LG Saxena’s Directive to Eliminate Redundant Documents
According to LG, all extraneous paperwork needed for a new licence or its renewal needs to be taken out right away. By the end of March, he wants the arms licence web portal to be updated and modified.
In addition to submitting their licence application through the new online site, candidates can now arrange their interview time to suit them. This interview may be conducted via video call or video conference. This action has been taken to ensure that there is no corruption and that people can obtain weapons licences without difficulty.
