BENGALURU: Around 91 constables at the Police Training School (PTS) in Thanisandra and four from Magadi Road police station (west division) tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday.
Now by this, the total number of infected police personnel only in Bengaluru has touched 1,026. While nine of them have died, 565 have been recovered and discharged.
A senior PTS officer said one constable had tested positive a couple of weeks ago. “I am not sure whether his primary contacts were quarantined. The outbreak came to light during random testing which was carried out last week,” he said.
“The 91 patients have been shifted to designated facilities, including Victoria Hospital. Around 150 of their roommates have been quarantined,” a senior police officer said.
