The Tamil Nadu government has released the standard operating procedure(SOP)for hygiene, health and safety protocols for schools reopening. As per the statement from the government the schools may be reopened for Classes 9,10,11 and 12 from September 1, 2021.
Schools are allowed to function for six days a week.The classes and sections have to be split into batches of not more than 20 students per classroom.If there is additional space available in large classrooms then more schools can be accommodated by adding more benches, following strict physical distancing norms.On the other hand, if there is only limited space or no additional classrooms available, then students shall be asked to come to school on a rotational basis on alternative days.

School Reopening SOPs
*Online learning will continue.
*Students who are willing t o study from home with the consent of parents are allowed to do so.
*On the progress of the learning outcomes of all such students shall be planned appropriately
*If students wish they are allowed to attend online class rather than attending physical class.
*All students and school staff shall wear face masks inside and outside the school premises.
*All the teaching and non-teaching staff must get themselves vaccinated.
* Prior to re-opening of the schools, the school premises along with furniture, handrails, doors, windows etc. shall be cleaned and disinfected properly and following the government guidelines already issued for the same.
*Schools, when allowed to open, should follow this Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the government.
