MPPSC PCS 2024: The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has received approximately 1.90 lakh applications for the 110 vacancies announced in the State Service Exam 2024. This marks a decline of nearly 40,000 applicants compared to the previous PSC recruitment, attributed to controversies surrounding OBC reservation and delayed recruitments. The preliminary exam for MPPSC is scheduled for April 28, 2024, and admit cards will be issued in April.
Noteworthy Changes in MPPSC Syllabus
Several modifications have been introduced in the MPPSC syllabus for 2024:
- The first question paper of the preliminary exam now includes an increased focus on the general studies section related to Madhya Pradesh.
- The tenth unit exclusively covers Madhya Pradesh’s tribes, heritage, etc.
- In the main exam, Physics and Chemistry have been removed, and Economics with 150 marks has been added.
These changes indicate an effort to provide a more comprehensive evaluation of candidates’ knowledge of the state and introduce diversity in the syllabus. The state is also expected to adjust examination rules based on government directives during the ongoing process.
In another development, the MPPSC has included the life stories of notable figures from Indian philosophy, incorporating the life of Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar, among others.
This highlights the commission’s commitment to an inclusive and diverse assessment approach, covering various aspects of knowledge in the upcoming examinations.
