Kanika Dhillon, a Bollywood screenwriter who has worked on films such as ‘Haseen Dillruba,’ ‘Manmarziyaan,’ ‘Om Shanti Om’, and others, has become the first-ever writer to be featured on the cover of an international Bollywood magazine.
The German magazine ISHQ is celebrating the phenomenal filmography of Kanika in the latest issue.
Sharing the good news on twitter handle, Kanika wrote, Onward and upward- with gratitude, love and light! 🙏… when a screenwriter makes it to a cover of an international Bollywood magazine- it’s a great time for content creators and writers! Cheers to my tribe and may we all go from strength to strength! #unboxing the writers box!
Recently, Kanika also became the first writer to bag top billing for the trailer of ‘Haseen Dillruba’ by Netflix.

Kanika started her career in Bollywood as a script supervisor for Shah Rukh Khan`s production company Red Chillies Entertainment. She served as an assistant director in Om Shanti Om (2008) as well as a script supervisor for Billu (2009).
After gaining considerable experience, Dhillon wrote two television serials which includes Ghar Ki Baat Hai (2009) and Ishaan: Sapno ko awaaz de (2010-2011).
As an author, Kanika had also released three novels, ‘Bombay Duck is a Fish’, a satire on the Indian film industry, the young adult superhero novel ‘Shiva and the Rise of the Shadows’, and the drama ‘The Dance of Durga’.
