Royal Enfield Scram 450: After registering huge success in the 350cc and 650cc segments in India, Royal Enfield seems to be planning to enter the 450cc market. RE lovers can anticipate a number of further models built on the new 450cc platform in addition to the Himalayan 450 ADV. The upcoming bikes in the 450cc category include the Scram 450 and the Hunter 450. The most recent spy photos also appear to indicate that a roadster variant is coming to India.
Royal Enfield Scram 450 Features
RE Scram 450 will probably be the least expensive model in Royal Enfield’s portfolio. The Scram 450 is essentially a roadster model that can be easily ideated modifications made to the equipment list. The roadster version of the Himalayan 450 features regular telescopic forks up front, whereas the Himalayan 450 has 43 mm USD forks. USD forks could be made available as an optional feature.
Many parts of the Himalayan 450 will be shared with the Royal Enfield Scram 450. It has 320 mm front and 270 mm rear disk brakes, a mono-shock suspension system in the back, and all-LED lighting. Standard features will include dual-channel ABS. However, the roadster version could not come equipped with the switchable ABS technology that comes with the Himalayan 450. This will further help in cost reduction.
Royal Enfield Scram 450 Engine and Power
The Scram 450 will be powered by the same 452cc, single-cylinder, DOHC, four-valve, liquid-cooled engine. It has a maximum power output of 40.02 PS and a peak torque of 40 Nm. The engine has a slip-and-assist clutch and is linked to a 6-speed gearbox. It’s probable that Royal Enfield may adjust the gear ratios to better fit the roadster silhouette of the motorcycle.
Royal Enfield Scram 450 Expected Price
Taking note of cost-cutting measures taken by the Royal Enfield to build Scram 450. We expect that the roadster will come with a price ranging between 2.30 lakh to 2.40 lakh.
