IQOO Neo 9 Pro Review: IQOO Neo 9 Pro is the new entrant in the IQOO’s performance-centric Neo series. The device made its India debut on February 22, 2024. This smartphone is creating a buzz in the smartphone market as a potential “Flagship Killer” with its high-performance chipset. Is the hype generated for IQOO Neo 9 Pro worth it or not? I used the all-new iQOO Neo 9 Pro for almost 25 days and after my 25 days of intense usage, I can say that this smartphone is one of the best options in its segment. Here, we will review IQOO Neo 9 Pro considering all angles, from design to performance. Don’t forget to check our verdict before buying this smartphone.
iQOO Neo 9 Pro: Design and Performance
The iQOO Neo 9 comes with a dual-tone vegan leather back panel, making it a stand-out device among its competitors, such as the OnePlus 12R. The device boasts a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display which supports a high refresh rate of 144 Hz Adaptive refresh rate. However, the device has a 144 Hz refresh rate, but I observed that it usually fluctuates from 1 Hz to 120 Hz according to the task. Overall, the phone gives a premium in-hand feel with a vegan leather back. According to me, the IQOO Neo 9 Pro visual output is one of the best offered in this segment.
Being a member of IQOO’s Neo series, performance is the USP of the Neo 9 Pro. The device comes equipped with a powerful flagship-grade Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. I played high-performance games like BGMI and Genshin Imapact and surprisingly, the device handled both games without dropping any frame rates. So, for gamers, the iQOO Neo 9 Pro is worth to buy.
iQOO Neo 9 Pro: Camera and Software Optimization
The iQOO Neo 9 Pro boasts a 50MP primary camera which performs well in both low light conditions. According to our camera testing, we got to know that Neo 9 Pro excels in finely processing the photos after capturing them. The 50MP primary lens comes paired with an 8MP ultrawide sensor and there is no telephoto lens in the device. However, according to my experience, the device captures good details, but it sometimes struggles with edge detection in portrait shots.
Talking about the software experience, firstly you should know that Neo Pro runs on Android 14 based on Funtouch OS 14. Though the device comes with a clean and bloatware-less experience, sometimes Funtouch OS fails to provide a stable experience.

iQOO Neo 9 Pro: What We Think
According to me, the iQOO Neo 9 Pro is the best smartphone for gamers who can’t compromise in terms of performance and have a budget of around Rs 35000. The iQOO Neo 9 Pro is a combo of power, design and camera. However, if the camera is one of the most important things in a smartphone for you, then you should go with another option available in the segment such as the OnePlus 12R and Realme 12 5G.
Whether you should buy IQOO Neo 9 Pro or not depends on your usage. In a nutshell, if you need performance, go with Neo 9 Pro and If you need better camera specs, you should go with the OnePlus 12R.
