Stock Market Today: The GIFT Nifty on the NSE IX fell by 64.50 points, to 22,543.50, indicating that Dalal Street will likely have a poor start to the day. Tuesday’s Tokyo stock market began higher as investors celebrated the overnight advances in US high-tech shares. In early trading, the benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.14 percent, or 54.07 points, to 39,857.16, while the Topix index as a whole gained 0.11 percent, or 2.90 points, to 2,724.12. Tuesday saw traders scrambling to retreat bets on the Federal Reserve’s first interest rate cut of the year, and the US currency was trading close to a 4-1/2-month high against major peers.

Hero MotoCorp
In March, the business sold 490,415 bikes and scooters, a 5.57 percent decrease from the same month the previous year. Sales of motorcycles and scooters at the end of FY24 were 5,621,455, an increase of 5.49 percent year over year.
Infosys: The Income Tax Department has sent it a tax demand totaling Rs 341 crore (including interest) for the assessment year 2020–21.
TVS Motor Company
In March 2024, the manufacturer of two-wheelers sold 354,592 vehicle units, a 12% YoY increase. Out of this, domestic sales of two-wheelers grew by 8% to total sales of 344,446 units, a 12 percent gain. With 4.19 million units sold, it recorded a record 14% year-over-year gain in total sales in FY24.
NTPC
In an effort to lower power prices, the power generation company and UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (UPRVUNL) have signed a supplementary joint venture agreement (SJVA) whereby the former will lease existing UPRVUNL land to the latter for the Obra-D (2X800 MW) and Anpara-E (2X800 MW) projects at a nominal cost of Re 1 per acre per year.
