Toyota Taisor: The Maruti Fronx-based crossover, the Urban Cruiser Taisor, was introduced by Toyota India and is priced starting at Rs 7.73 lakh. In India, it is the sixth product to come from the joint venture between Toyota and Maruti Suzuki. Orders for the same have started, and delivery will start in May 2024. Toyota Taisor powertrain details
The same engine used in the Maruti Fronx continues to power the Toyota Taisor. Both a 1.0-turbo and a 1.2-liter NA petrol engine, generating 88 horsepower and 113 Nm respectively, are installed in it. Whereas the turbocharged 1.2 can be coupled to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic torque converter unit, the 1.2 can only be coupled to a five-speed manual or five-speed AMT. A CNG kit option fitted by the company is also available in a few different configurations.
Features onboard
The Urban Cruiser Taisor’s interior features dual-tone black and brown upholstery. In addition to wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment panel, auto climate control, a 360-degree camera, a heads-up display, a wireless charger, smartwatch connectivity, and other features are included with the SUV. Six airbags, an electronic stability programme (ESP), hill hold aid, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages all contribute to safety.
Price in India
With a starting price of Rs 7.74 lakh and a top-end trim priced at Rs 13.04 lakh, Toyota has introduced the Taisor compact SUV in the Indian market. Surprisingly, the Fronx and Taisor have a very slight difference in pricing of Rs. 1000 for the 1.0-litre turbo variant, while there is a price differential of up to Rs. 25000 for the 1.2-litre engine types across the table.
