Eid-Ul-Fitr 2024: On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished everyone a happy Eid and hoped the celebration would foster a culture of kindness, unity, and peace.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi said, “May everyone be happy and healthy. Eid Mubarak!” Eid is being celebrated in Kerala and Ladakh on Wednesday, while it will be celebrated in the rest of the country on April 11.” Eid-ul-Fitr is the celebration that ends the month of Ramadan, when people fast.
President Murmu’s Eid Greeting
President Murmu Tweeted, “I congratulate all the countrymen, especially the Muslim brothers and sisters, on Eid-ul-Fitr. Celebrated after the holy month of Ramadan, this festival spreads the feeling of unity, harmony and brotherhood. This festival of sharing happiness inspires forgiveness and charity. Varied Eid Dates Linked to Lunar Calendar
The festival is observed on various days around the world, depending on when the crescent moon is seen. This is because the crescent moon is thought to mark the beginning of the Shawwal month in the lunar Islamic calendar.
On the occasion of Eid, PM Modi also extended a heartfelt greeting to President Mohamed Muizzu of the Maldives, the administration, and the people of the archipelago nation. He further emphasised the shared cultural and civilizational heritage between the two nations.
