The family of Anand Giri, the man who has been accused of being behind the death of Mahant Narendra Giri, is in disbelief and shock. They are of the belief that Anand can never kill someone. Anand, who had left home at the age of 13, is not the sort of person who could be involved in killing someone, the family said.
“No family member of ours can be involved in someone’s killing,” Bhanwar, Anand Giri’s eldest brother, told India Today.
“Anand told us that he has opted for a different world which had nothing to do with our world. He told us not to contact him and whenever he wanted to speak with us, Mahant Narendra Giri used to make us speak with him,” Bhanwar added.
“We had heard about the allegations that were levelled against Anand Giri but are not ready to believe them. He never gave us any money or generated wealth. You can look around in our home. We have not attained any wealth of the kind that is being spoken about. Our home is what it used to be. He is not the kind of person who would be involved in killing someone.”, Anand Giri’s father was quoted as saying.
“The family tried searching for Anand Giri a lot when he went missing at the age of 8. The villagers do not believe that he could be involved in what he is accused of,” a villager said.
Reportedly, Bhanwar was extremely close to his mother. He had return home this year in May when she had passed away.
“Anand Giri had come home in 2013 for the first time after going away at the age of 8. Our mother wanted pictures of him to be put on the wall of the house and that is when I got these two pictures of his that you see on the wall for Rs 400 each,” Bhanwar said.
