Corporal Vikky Pahade was an Indian Air Force member who was killed in a terrorist attack. His remains have been carried to his village of Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, for his last rites. On May 4, Corporal Pahade passed away due to injuries he had acquired during the attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch Sector.
Proud Sister’s Tribute
Geeta Pahade, a sub-inspector herself, learned of her brother’s passing on Saturday night, which broke her heart. She was extremely proud of Vikky for her devotion to the country, even in spite of her sadness. She said, “I am proud of my brother.”
Family’s Grief
Pahade’s brother-in-law, Sanju Gaunekar, described how the family was shocked to learn of Pahade’s injuries and eventual death. In spite of the fact that Pahade was the only son among three sisters and their father had already died, he underlined the family’s pride in Pahade’s service as well as the deep sorrow they felt.
Security Measures and Response
Security personnel conducted a massive manhunt to find the attackers after the attack. In order to reinforce security measures, more Indian Army troops landed in the impacted area. Although Corporal Vikky Pahade was rushed to the Command Hospital in Udhampur for treatment, he sadly passed away from his wounds.
Investigation and Countermeasures
Through social media, the Indian Air Force confirmed the occurrence and informed the public that investigations were being conducted and that the targeted convoy had been secured. With assistance from the Army and police, local security forces—including the Rashtriya Rifles unit—started a cordon and hunt to find the attackers.
