IPL 2024 MI Vs SRH: There are only a few ways a bowler’s debut match can turn out. Either it can be a dream debut where he takes 5 wickets and ruins every batsman. Or it can be like Anshul Kamboj’s debut, filled with unlucky moments.
Anshul Kamboj became the latest pacer to debut for Mumbai Indians in this troublesome season. Where every bowler has been hit hard, Mumbai is still looking for a pacer that can trouble batsmen.
Anshul looked every bit of that bowler when he knocked down Travis Head as his debut wicket. But things took a turn for the worse and the dream debut wicket turned into a nightmare in just three deliveries.
See The Line
The moment came in the fifth over when Anshul clean-bowled Travis Head on an amazing delivery. But the umpire signaled a no-ball and the whole Wankhede stadium turned silent. Jasprit Bumrah especially felt bad for the debutant and it was visible by his reaction.
Head bashed the Free Hit which was also a No Ball and once again the Free Hit was bashed by Head. Things got even worse when Thusara dropped Head in the 8th over which was being bowled by Anshul only.
Anshul finally got his long-desired wicket in his last over when he clean-bowled Mayank Agarwal in the same over. The relief was completely visible in the celebration by Anshul and the whole Wankhede stadium cheered for the youngster.
IPL 2024 MI Vs SRH: Decent Figures
Even after all the drama, Anshul finished with a decent bowling figure as he completed his 4 overs quota with 1 wicket and conceded 42 runs. It is not economical by any means but without those no balls, it would have been even better.
