Border-Gavaskar Trophy: BGT is one of the fiercest cricket rivalry between two nations. It is one of the most electrifying test series that is even more interesting than any of the IPL 2024 T20 cricket matches.
In the last few years, the popularity and intensity of this series has seen a sudden rise. This is also due to the fact that India has won the last two BGT series in Australia. Something that was never done before by the Indian team.
Cricket Australia has acknowledged the sudden rise in Indian fans at the stadium and has decided to take the necessary steps. CA has decided to provide Indian fans their own separate Fan Zone to intensify this rivalry even more.
A Separate Fan-Zone
CA has decided to designate specific seating areas for the Indian supporters at all the venues of the upcoming BGT trophy. The fan zones aim to create a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere for Indian cricket supporters.
“Aligned with Cricket Australia’s Multicultural Action Plan, the fan zones will foster an inclusive environment for Indian cricket fans and create an electrifying atmosphere,” Cricket Australia release read.
The statement also stated that more details about the fan zone will be revealed soon. With this initiative, the series will be even more intense, and the Indian crowd will be even more vocal than in previous times.
Historic Border-Gavaskar Trophy
Australia would like to take revenge for the humiliating series of defeats they suffered back in 2021. India would also like to take revenge for the World Test Championship 2023 final loss.
It will be the first time that these two teams will play a five-match series as part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The series will kickstart on November 22 and will end in January, indicating that it will be a long and cruel winter for both teams.
