Vastu Tips: Vastu Shastra states that many items in the house have proper places and directions that we either overlook or fail to pay attention to. This text states that acting in such a way is improper and may even be dangerous. One such item is the house’s calendar, or panchang. We don’t give it much thought before putting it there, yet this tiny item has an impact on your day, week, month, and year. Have you ever noticed which way your home’s calendar is facing? If not, do you know which way the calendar should be oriented and what happens if it is not aligned correctly?
Direction for the calendar
West orientation: Placing the calendar in the west direction of the house is considered auspicious according to Vastu Shastra. Venus, the planet of luck, riches, love, and beauty, is the planet that represents this direction. This direction is also regarded as the direction of flow because Varun Dev is the lord of it.
North direction: If the calendar cannot be positioned in the house’s west direction for any reason, you may alternatively choose to place it in the north direction. Lord Kuber is the ruler of this direction.
Avoid putting the calendar in this manner and location
It is believed that the calendar serves as a time indicator. According to Vastu Shastra, it is strictly forbidden to place anything facing south since it negatively affects health. If this passage is accurate, the calendar shouldn’t be hung behind the door or next to the front door. It impedes the house’s advancement. Furthermore, the calendar should not be stored in a location where high winds cause its pages to fly or flutter, as this will negatively impact the house’s development.
