Union minister Ajay Mishra on Sunday said that three BJP workers and a driver were thrashed to death by “some elements” among farmers protesting in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri. Mishra told that two farmers died after coming under the car. The Union Minister of State for Home said that neither his son nor he was present at the time of the incident. He said the incident took place when some BJP workers were on their way to receive Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who had come to attend an event in Lakhimpur Kheri.
“Some elements involved in the protesting farmers showed black flags and pelted stones at the car, which overturned. Two farmers came under the car and died. Some people present there thrashed three BJP workers and the driver of the car. He said that he is going to conduct his postmortem.”

Mishra said that his son was not present at the spot, as alleged by some farmer leaders and he had photograph and video evidence to prove it. “My son (of the deputy chief minister) was present at the venue and thousands of people, officials of administration and police were present there. I was also with the Deputy Chief Minister.”
Meanwhile, the United Kisan Morcha (SKM) called for demonstrations outside the offices of District Magistrates and Commissioners across the country on Monday against the incident of some protesting farmers being allegedly crushed by two ‘SUV’ vehicles in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri. Is. Farmer leaders Yogendra Yadav and Darshan Pal Singh gave this information on Sunday. Along with this, he has demanded an inquiry into the incident by a serving judge of the Supreme Court instead of the Uttar Pradesh administration.
Eight people, including both farmers and Bharatiya Janata Party workers, were killed in violence at the farmers’ agitation site on Sunday ahead of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya’s visit to Lakhimpur Kheri, officials said. Singh said, “To protest against Sunday’s incident, the United Kisan Morcha has called for demonstrations outside the offices of all district magistrates and commissioners across the country from 10 am to 1 pm on Monday.Farmer leaders alleged that Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra’s son was traveling in a ‘sports utility vehicle’ SUV car allegedly involved in the accident.”
