Meerut News: With everything set to go, the much-awaited Namo Bharat train service expansion from Modinagar to Meerut South Station is almost ready to take place. The Metro Rail Safety Commissioner has given the required approvals, and the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has confirmed that all systems are operational. The precise start date of the services has not yet been disclosed, though.
Smooth Operations Await from Modinagar to Meerut South
The Namo Bharat train is scheduled to expand its route by reaching Meerut South. Currently, it runs from Sahibabad to Modinagar North. This expansion comes after the first phase, which ran from Sahibabad to Duhai depot and the second section in which the train ran from Duhai to Modinagar North.
Passengers will soon be able to travel a smooth 42 kilometre stretch, instead of the existing 34 km, with the completion of this new section. All required arrangements, such as parking lots, traffic lights, and platforms, are in place, according to NCRTC Chief Public Relations Officer Puneet Vats. Travellers can expect a hassle-free journey since the formailities necessary for the train to operate have been painstakingly fulfilled.
Enhanced Connectivity and Passenger Convenience
It is anticipated that the expansion to Meerut South would greatly increase convenience and passenger volume. With the introduction of the additional route, the Namo Bharat service has already benefitted over a million passengers, and this figure is expected to rise. Residents of Meerut will find it easier to travel because to the improved connection, which will also allow them to become more integrated into the larger regional network.
Rapid Progress on the Namo Bharat RRTS Corridor
Meanwhile, construction on the Namo Bharat RRTS Corridor in Delhi is progressing rapidly. The next phase will see the train service extended from Sahibabad to Delhi, with significant advancements already made in track laying and station construction. Notably, four tunnels have been constructed to facilitate train movement on both sides of the Anand Vihar underground station.
