The Men In Blues finally ended their 11-year-long trophy drought and for a change, it was the Pacers that led this team throughout. Even when the batters failed, the pacers came and defended that score.
This World Cup was won on the back of all three pacers of India. Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh were phenomenal. But it was Hardik Pandya who came in like a wild card and took crucial wickets.
Even in the finals, he took two crucial wickets of David Miller and Henrich Klassen to get India back in the game. He was the shadow behind every successful outing of the team in this tournament.
Jasprit Bumrah POTT!
The best pacer in the world deservedly got his Player Of the Tournament award. He took 15 wickets in the tournament with an economy of just over 4. It was a massive performance in a format dominated by the batters.
The wickets of Mohammad Rizwan, Travis Head, and Phil Salt were just some of the crucial wickets that led India towards victory in every match. It was just otherworldly stuff.
What About Hardik Pandya?
Hardik Pandya surely had a Man Of The Match performance in the finals. But Virat Kohli got that award for his great innings. But what about Hardik Pandya, who has been wonderful in every match with either bat or ball? He surely deserves more.
He assisted Bumrah phenomenally in every match and finished so many innings for India to get them above the par score. He also deserved an award. And surely, in the hearts of every Indian, he is a hero. He is a hero who did his job silently and led us to World Cup glory.
