What is Tension Type Headache?
Doctor Priyanka Sehrawat revealed the real meaning of headache. According to her, Tension-type headache is a type of headache where you have a lot of tension in your head and it feels as if someone has tied something around your head. During this headache, the person feels that there is a band-like sensation on the head.
Causes and Symptoms
So the most common causes of this headache are;
- Sleep deprivation,
- Bad sleep schedule,
- Interrupted sleep due to nightmares,
- Restless leg syndrome,
- Dehydration,
- Going to the washroom again and again.
That means you are predisposed to have this headache and you need to work on your sleeping schedule. Stress may predispose to a poor sleeping schedule and that can lead to headache. So, indirectly stress or tension can also lead to this headache.
Prevention
According to the AIIMS Neurologist, if you want to reduce tension, yoga, meditation, 30-minute fast walks, a good diet, and a good lifestyle are very important. But it is also very important to follow sleep hygiene techniques.
- Do not take coffee or tea after 6 in the evening.
- The best time to sleep is 10 o’clock.
- Keep your TV, mobile and digital devices off 2 hours before going to sleep.
