Paris Olympics 2024 Opening Ceremony is just a few hours away. The World's biggest sporting event will start on 26th July and will last till 11th August.

The Olympic Medals are always crafted with much detail and attention but this is the first a host city has included a piece of its national monument in the Olympic Medal.

This time the Olympic medals are crafted with an 18g piece of Iron from the Eiffel Tower. Arranged in a Hexagon shape with rivets. The lining pattern included to reflect the light, given Paris' nickname, 'City of Light.'

These medals are crafted by the LVMH jewellery firm Chaumet. It is produced by Monnaie de Paris.

The backside of the medal shows the story of the Olympic Games rebirth. It features The Acropolis of Athens, The Eiffel Tower, The goddess of Victory, Athena Nike and Panathenaic Stadium.

Each medal is engraved with the name of the sport, discipline and event in French.

The Olympic Medal strap is Blue and the Paralympic Medal strap is Red. The Paralympic medal has written 'Paris 2024' in Braille on the backside.
